Outdoor shows on the Las Vegas Strip

Two great shows

There are two really good shows on the Strip that we recommend and they are free of charge. They are also within walking distance from each other. The fountain show at Bellagio is the most well-known and it is a beautiful show. The volcano at the Mirage is action-filled and definitely worth a look after their renovation in 2008.

Fountains at Bellagio

Bellagio hosts the popular fountain show in the middle of the Strip. The water basin, in which the fountains are, is more than 300 meters wide and 150 meters long. Some of the water jets can reach 50 meters high. The fountain show is accompanied by powerful lighting and famous songs like “Viva Las Vegas” by Elvis and “Time to say goodbye” with Sarah Brightman. It is a spectacular show and of course a must see.

Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 3 p.m. – midnight
Saturday and holidays: 12 p.m. – midnight
Sunday: 11 a.m. – midnight
Every day the fountain show runs every half hour until 7 p.m. and then every 15 minutes. The show may be canceled by strong winds.

Volcano at the Mirage

A 15 meters high volcano rises outside the tropical hotel the Mirage The volcano erupts five times every night. The show re-opened in the end of 2008 after $25 million improvement. Water and fire is combined to produce spectacular “eruptions”. Below the volcano is 150 sources of fire which are synchronized with the music. You’ll find the volcano between The Venetian and the Mirage on the west side of the Strip.

Schedule:
Every night: 8 p.m. – midnight every half hour (not 8.30 p.m.)
