Mandalay Bay

Gold color

Mandalay Bay is a nice hotel at the south end on the Las Vegas Strip. It has a theme from Southeast Asia. The hotel opened in 1999 and has 3309 rooms. The buildings have a beautiful golden color that comes from the thin gold-leafed used on the windows.

Nice pool area

The pool area is the Strip’s most impressive with 11 acres known as Mandalay Beach. There are three heated pools, a pool with a wave generator, a beach and an artificial river. When it was built, 2700 tons of sand was transported from southern California to create an artificial beach. It is very nice, but unfortunately it is often crowded.

Attractions

The Lion King musical runs at Mandalay Bay and the hotel has a shark aquarium with more than 2,000 animals. (Sharkreef.com)
